Last year I walked from Lands End to John O' Groats, and with an enormous amount of support from many people, £45,500 was raised for paediatric brain tumour research.
This year I'm "Walking Backwards" The aim is to raise awareness of the benefits of regular walking. My new job is as a Co-ordinator for "Action for Life" a walking for health group in Surrey. Walking the Way to Health (W.H.I.) is the largest national initiative promoting health led walks. It is a joint initiative between Natural England and The British Heart Foundation.(www.whi.org.uk) I'll be meeting up with other walking for health groups as I make my way down the country, the aim being to "spread the word"
Walking is the best all round exercise, and it's free!
